At B.E, we are committed to encouraging various communities to get involved in politics. In our discussions with various groups, we have encountered some within the Christian community who have strong thoughts on why Christians should not get involved in politics. As a result, we have organised this discussion aptly themed "Should Christians be involved in Politics"?

If you ever thought of positively changing your communities or influencing decisions that impact lives and communities, this is an opportunity to interact with a Member of Parliament , Church leaders, Researchers to understand the role Christians can play in positions of influences. Don't miss it

On the 9th of  October 2019, Black Excellence will be collaborating with Loughborough University to put on an event for schools that gives students a chance to meet, hear from and talk to black scientists from the University and from the Black Excellence (BE) Achievers project.  The event aims to inspire school students to continue in science and pursue STEM careers, as well as to educate students about the achievements of Black scientists in the UK.  Schools that are interested in taking part should contact the School and Colleges Liaison Team at 01509 228837 or scl@lboro.ac.uk.

During the afternoon of the 9th of  October, from 4-6 pm, there will be an additional public event at the University featuring a reception and poster display of profiles from the Black Excellence (BE) Achievers joint project with Loughborough University:  Profiles of Black UK Scientists, followed by a talk by Dr. Deji Akiwowo of Black Excellence about the project, and a panel discussion by individuals featured in the profiles.  Information will be available in the weeks before the event at https://www.lboro.ac.uk/science/events/.
